VIVIAN L. MORA, SPHR
Vivian L. Mora is a senior executive in human resources. Vivian is the Managing Partner for Mora&Associates, an executive search and human capital consulting firm based in Katy, Texas, just west of Houston. Prior to launching Mora&Associates, Vivian served almost eight years as the Vice President of Human Resources for the NBA Houston Rockets and Toyota Center, a multi-purpose entertainment venue hosting year-round live concerts, sporting events, and family entertainment which serves as the home of the Houston Rockets. Vivian was accountable for overseeing all human resource and admininstrative functions for the Houston Rockets including the planning for and opening of Toyota Center in 2003. She served on the Senior Management Committee and consulted daily with executives and management to help create synergistic solutions to business concerns. Prior to this position, she led the human resource function for Texas-based HEB Grocery Company's Houston Retail Support Center through several growth years. She has also held progressive positions in the energy and the printing industry with Entergy Corporation and with Perry-Judd's Incorporated (acquired by RR Donnelley).
Mora’s educational background includes a Masters of Social Science concentrating in sociology with a minor concentration in economics from the University of Mississippi and a Bachelor of Science in marketing from Jackson State University. She holds the highest level of human resources certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and serves as an expert source for Reuters Insights and Focus HR. She has also served as a conference speaker for the International Ticketing Association, INTIX, as well as the Greater Houston Area Ticketing Association, GHATA. She is scheduled to speak at the 2010 Gulf Coast Symposium on Human Resource Issues to be held May 12-13 in Houston, TX. She is affiliated with the following professional organizations:

Vivian resides in Katy, Texas where she, her husband, Alfonso, and daughter are spending the year hosting a Rotary Youth Exchange student from Sweden. When not engaged in human capital matters, you will find Vivian riding the bike trails of Katy, walking the family's Cairn Terrier, or tucked away in her art studio hopefully producing contemporary masterpieces!
